Making good ice creams is not improvised, it is a craft that is learned and that is even more complex in a context of high flexibility such as that of Gelato d’Italia’s productions. Indeed, continuous training in the classroom and on the job, is a fundamental tool for preparing and specializing competent and professional talents, ready to carry out their duties with the best possible preparation.
The strong growth of Gelato d’Italia has revealed, for instance, the criticality of the role of the Team Leader who is responsible for a production line and the group of people who manage it. “It is a complex role that requires a balanced mix of soft and hard skills to obtain the excellent results of quality and efficiency that the market asks us” says Luigi Penello the Production Manager of the Cavriago plant. “Today we are an important reality in the area, able to offer real opportunities for professional growth for many young people in a dynamic and motivating work environment” adds Verena Iori HR Manager.

In May Gelato d’Italia has introduced in the market over 100 new products for this year and many other innovations will arrive in the upcoming months.
Also 2021 has began in the name of innovation, with the whole team committed to responding to the request for novelty that strongly recurred even in this year of recovery.
To date, about 40% of the company’s turnover comes from new products and 18 are the countries of destination for ice-creams that also travel to Australia, the United States and South Korea.
Now Gelato d’Italia is facing the most intense period of work, summertime, but it is already moving in the right direction: the CEO Marco Pellegrino says “the ice cream world shows a strong desire to start over. Our Sales and R&D Teams did a fantastic job, now is showtime for the Production Team”.
On Monday March 1st the new Gelato d’Italia factory was inaugurated with the presence of Stefano Bonaccini, President of Emilia Romagna, and Alessio Mammi, Regional Councilor for Agro-food of Emilia Romagna. Furthermore the Mayor of Cavriago, the Mayor of Reggio Emilia and the President of Unindustria also took part at the ceremony.
The production plant, which represents an important expansion and modernization of the historic factory, will allow to increase the production by more than 50% and to better address the ambitious business development plans.
The new factory has been completely built by local companies and it is technologically advanced, both from an industrial and an environmental point of view: it is equipped with a modern thermal power plant and with a solar panel roof that significantly improve its energy efficiency.
